Hotel St Paul is today well recognized in Montreal as well as in Quebec, but few people are actually aware of our genesis! Did you know that our beautiful ‘Beaux Arts’ edifice was not at all meant to be a hotel when it was constructed at the beginning of the XX century?
Built between 1906 and 1908 by Hutchinson & Wood architects, it hosted for decades the ‘Canadian Express’ bank headquarters, as well as governmental offices.
Iber group is buying it in 1998 with the ambition to transform it into the fanciest hotel of Montreal! Mission accomplished ...Hotel St Paul is opening in 2001, prized by the city of Montreal for its astonishing interior design, receiving plenty of other distinctions: Condé Nast, Travel + Leisure, Trip Advisor,...
12 years went by and we are still very proud of our beautiful building! We actually love the fascinating contrast between the modern design of our interior decor and the antique and charming allure of our frontage!
