The beautiful historical building has been identified as a Muscular Beaux Arts building. The interior is surprisingly ethereal. The soft monochromatic design palette creates an ambient, serene atmosphere. Fire, ice, earth and sky have been abstracted within the hotel, distilling Canada's most basic natural features. The hotel's floors alternate between two different landscapes; while earth rooms are solid, grounded and more tactile in their colours, materials and furnishings, the sky rooms are atmospheric spaces focusing on light and air. Furnishings in every room and suite combine unique treasures with customized articles, incorporating dignified materials such as silk, stone, and raw metal. Each room's large windows offer guests a distinctive view of the city whether it is the metropolitan city skyline, the liveliness of the Old Port or a timeless architectural piece. Canada has been her home for 13 years. Her constant travels to Europe and through North America have helped define her style. Ana Borrallo has worked on residential and commercial projects and has designed some of St-Paul's furniture pieces. Raw materials such as marble, alabaster, steel & leather are used trough out the hotel to create a smooth transition between indoor and outdoor.
